In May it is warm enough here in Poland, so we can spend our breaks in our school garden. We can play together and have a rest between the lessons. The garden is quite big. There are lots of trees and bushes. Everything is green now and it will stay this way until autumn. Then the leaves on the trees are going to turn yellow, brown and red. The first snow usually falls in November and our garden looks like a beautiful winter wonderland - all in white.
We have celebrated the european day with the nearest schools in the Town Hall Square. Here, in our school, we have made a map of the European Comunity.
May 2 - Flag Day - The flag of Poland consists of two horizontal stripes of equal width, the upper one white and the lower one red. According to the Constitution these are the national colors of Poland .
May 3 - Constitution Day The May 3 Constitution of 1791 was Europe’s first and the world’s second modern national constitution. The constitution has became a symbol of Poland's traditions of independence. A lof of Polish towns nowadays organise special festivities to celebrate this day and parades take place all over the country. We also celebrated this day at our school. Year 3 and 5 prepared a performance for their friends. Some students from our school took part in the parade, too.
